A STUDENT-CENTERED APPROACH TO TRAINING
STUDENT INFORMATION
UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
RPL allows students to have their existing skills and knowledge—gained through work, study, or life experience—assessed against the requirements of nationally recognised units or qualifications. This can reduce duplication of learning and shorten the path to certification.
Students may apply for RPL before or during their course. The process involves:
Completing a self-assessment,
Participating in an RPL planning interview,
Submitting supporting evidence (e.g. work records, third-party reports, or job-related documents),
Undergoing practical assessment if required.
Where RPL is not suitable, assessment-only or full training pathways will be recommended. There is no additional charge for eligible enrolled students.
Additional information can be found in the Student Handbook.
