Course Description

This unit specifies the outcomes required for operatives to remove non-friable asbestos containing material (ACM) under Australian asbestos legislation. The unit includes preparing, containing and removing non-friable ACM, and includes knowledge of decontamination and disposal requirements. Satisfactory completion of this unit will enable the student to lawfully remove non-friable asbestos-containing materials under the supervision and control of a “Class A or B” licensed asbestos removal entity.

Please note this course does not entitle an individual to hold a statutory asbestos removal contractor license. You must make further inquiries to the relevant state or territory WHS regulator to determine contractor licensing requirements. This course is a mandatory training requirement for operatives of licensed non-friable asbestos removal activities. Please refer to SafeWork SA or your relevant WHS authority for this.
