A STUDENT-CENTERED APPROACH TO TRAINING

STUDENT INFORMATION

Transform Training prides itself on operating a friendly and stimulating training environment at all times. An important part of this is making sure that students are informed of their options, rights and obligations when it comes to training with us.
Our Student Information Booklet contains a wealth of information that can help you navigate the student experience from enrolment details, to payment terms and complaint forms.
Additionally, we have provided some key information below that you may find useful. Please take the time to download and view our Student Information Booklet, and browse the content below. If you cannot find what you are looking for, our friendly staff are always happy to assist.

UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI)

In Australia, all students undertaking nationally accredited training must have a valid USI. A USI is a reference number made up of numbers and letters. Creating a USI is free. It creates a secure online record of your nationally recognised training that you can access anytime and anywhere, and it’s yours for life. If you do not already have a USI, you can sign up for one online by clicking the button below.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

RPL allows students to have their existing skills and knowledge—gained through work, study, or life experience—assessed against the requirements of nationally recognised units or qualifications. This can reduce duplication of learning and shorten the path to certification.

Students may apply for RPL before or during their course. The process involves:

  • Completing a self-assessment,

  • Participating in an RPL planning interview,

  • Submitting supporting evidence (e.g. work records, third-party reports, or job-related documents),

  • Undergoing practical assessment if required.

Where RPL is not suitable, assessment-only or full training pathways will be recommended. There is no additional charge for eligible enrolled students.

Additional information can be found in the Student Handbook.

CITB SHORT-COURSE FUNDING

About CITB

The CITB (Construction Industry Training Board) is a whole-of-industry led organization that provides support to attract, train, and retain South Australian building and construction workers by offering leadership in training and skills development.

CITB:

  • Provides access to subsidised training for apprentices, their employers, and workers in the industry.
  • Promotes and supports careers in construction.
  • Advises the South Australian Government on industry training needs.
  • Supports training innovation, research, and planning.
  • Attracts the future workforce through vocational training in schools, including support for the “Doorways2Construction” program.

Short Course Training

The objective of CITB’s Short Course Training program is to raise the skill level in the construction industry workforce by engaging eligible persons in training and skill development activities. CITB facilitates training opportunities and ensures that CITB-funded training meets both quality standards and industry requirements.
Each financial year, eligible persons with an approved CITB number can access up to $3,000 in training subsidies for any CITB-endorsed short course with a CITB-approved training provider. To access short course subsidies, an approved CITB number must be provided to the training provider upon enrolment.
